Lo Que La Vida Me Robó: Spanglish Girl’s Recap & Review Jan 6-10

So much to talk about: Murders, trysts, thefts…they all happened this week on Lo Que La Vida Me Robó!

Let me just start with this: wouldn’t we all love to have drawer full of cash to pull money from “just” because? I know I would… Montserrat doesn’t realize how good she has it with Alejandro.

Ok, so this week José Luis ’s identity is discovered by Loreto, who then attempts to use his discovery as blackmail against José Luis . Loreto coerces José Luis  into a plot to kill Alejandro in return for his silence regarding his identity.  Of course, José Luis , being the noble lifesaving hero that he is, manages to outwit Loreto and saves Alejandro’s life for the umpteenth time.

Alejandro is eternally grateful and reluctantly admits that he now owes José Luis  “again” for having saved him.  Alejandro gets the opportunity to repay José Luis  when the authorities come searching for him because they suspect he murdered Loreto. Alejandro hides José Luis and arranges to have him smuggled out of the Hacienda. The attempt to smuggle José Luis  fails and he is forced to find refuge in Angelica’s room.

I’m excited to see what happens next. The storyline is at a point where José Luis ’s identity has to be revealed in order for the novela to move forward.  I say this because this week other storylines came to an end: Juventino died, Nadia and Victor’s affair was discovered, and Montserrat finally accepts that she is happily in love with Alejandro. The only things left to be revealed are Jose Luis and Rosario’s identity.

Ultimately, things are going way too good for Alejandro and Montserrat—obviously something has to happen to shatter their happiness. It’s a novela! Happiness is not allowed so easily…lol. Regardless once Alejandro finds out, there is bound to be some serious drama because Alejandro is not going to forgive Montserrat; he will probably kick her out which would be similar to the storyline in Amor Real. I just can’t figure out any other direction for the storyline to take.

Now Juventino’s death! I didn’t expect him to be killed off so soon—the same for Loreto. Also, Maria and Adolfo are such dirt bags; honestly, they deserve each other. To steal money from Alejandro on Maria’s part is just down right wrong. I also think her tryst with Adolfo is more than a “business” affair—I think she is starting to “fall” for him. As a couple, they remind me of  Bonnie and Clyde.

Now, as for Dimitrio: What is he thinking chasing after Angelica when he’s already considered a “married” man! He’s walking a fine line between becoming a polygamist or adulterer. I mentioned in one of my tweets this week that he has quit the resume: professional couch surfer, murderer, con artist and runaway husband. He and adolfo makes me want to shout at my TV—but then I have to remind myself that it’s “just” a novela…

Well that’s all for this week. I can’t wait to see what happens next week. The teaser aired today shows Alejandro and Montserrat doing the deed and Jose Luis and Dimitrio in a confrontation: what a contrast…lol.

I have to say, Jose Luis sure did get the short end of the stick in this relationship. Alejandro is getting lucky, Montserrat get’s a drawer full of money to buy clothes with, and Jose Luis is a homeless ex-convict on the run… aye yi yi: I would hate to be him.

Until next week my Novela Lovers, have a fabulous weekend full of peace. Let’s leave the drama to the novelas.
